Suggested Use: Please note that because it is a very pricey oil, Melissa is commonly used only for distinct well-being purposes. Melissa's aroma is very strong, and should be heavily diluted. Diute to 1% in a carrier oil such as jojoba.
Melissa has been used to help reduce headaches and calm nerves.
History: Also known as lemon balm, Melissa is one of the earliest known medicinal herbs. Paracelsus called it the Elixir of Life. It has a long tradition of use for nervous disorders, and reviving the life energy of an emotionally depleted person. It is an important ingredient of French: Eau de Melisse de Carmes and German: Klosterfrau Melissengeist, both aroma used as nerve tonics.
Note: The yield of Melissa during distillation is extremely low, chich makes it one of the most expensive essential oils. Aromaland offers Melissa 100% or Melissa 10% diluted in jojoba oil.
